I'm happy to annouce that I've picked up my Contour tonight, after having to live without it for 25 days as a result of the engine failing. (Spun main bearing.)

I'll be keeping my eye out for other Tours around the Universities and Kitchener, except no racing just yet. I've still got to break the new engine in.

I had it done at Parkway Ford in Waterloo.
Ford ended up paying for 50% of the replacement engine. Which still left me with a bill for $3500

I was quite happy with the service at Parkway actually. The fact that my engine spun a bearing in the first place still has me quite ticked off though.

Yup. 1995 SE MTX.

As far as I remember they quoted $4400 for the engine alone. Which is not a brand new engine, it is a factory rebuild, which is essentially 75% new, but supposedly on the same quality level of a brand new engine. (Whose quality/longevity I am know questioning.)

What was the cost of the engine replacement for your 95? (although your warranty covered it)
It would be nice to know that my quote was not inflated before I paid my 50%.
