I talked with Jeremy tonight...he's the one doing the leg work on this. He's going to confirm with the track, but spectators should get in for free free free  The track is rented...as long as they have their money it doesn't matter who does what  But hey, if you're going to be there anyways...might as well RUN

Nonsense....besides, it's not just about speed, but fun! True story...I once saw an old Dodge MOTORHOME make a pass at 131 Dragway. It ran 23 seconds. You CAN'T be slower than that!

i'm interested in going, but not really wanting to camp just come and hangout on saturday. Maybe see the cars and maybe take a run.

OK, maybe I could beatthe motorhome time , but is some kind of helmet required for my nogin? ( big heavy thing on my shoulders)

I don't believe you'll need a helmet..but different tracks have different regulations so I'll find out for sure. Generally helmets are requred for cars running quicker than 14 seconds, and most of us there won't be passing that mark.
Here is a link to the thread at SHOforum with details...you DON'T need to camp out if you don't want, just show up at the strip Saturday morning, 9am!
