if anyone sees the silver 98 svt contour on 28th street/west of kalamazoo road. don't even look at it. its a piece of SHlt. im from chicago and i have a black 98.5 svt. i was in G. rapids on Wednesday for work, and i saw the car and stopped by to take a look. even though they won't tell you this, the car was it very bad in the back. both quarters were replaced, and a new bumper and back window. the bumper sags alot more then it should, they did a horrible welding job, and if you pick up the carpet in the trunk, there is shattered glass as well. 26,000 miles, and they want $16,000 for it. my opinio, NOT WORTH IT. frown

It's probably the one at the old duthler ford. It's silver and missing the bottom grill.

Just 2 months ago, I test drove a 98'silver CSVT with blue painted calipers and noticed that the clutch was worn a bit.

3rd and 4th gear was very hard to engage and it didnt help when the salesman that was trying to sell me the car, took the car for a "personal" run - grinding gears while power shifting and turning corners at very high speeds (55mph)at street corners!

This is probably why they cant sell CSVT's.

But, anyways...had I not known much about these cars ahead of time, I would have been the sucker to buy it at $14995 w/ no warranty!

This situation has made me very cautious when I go out to purchase a vehicle in a few months.

when I test drove mine it ran and sounded good. I looked it all over to make sure not too many things were bad ( I don't trust used cars as it is ). I got the rest of the warranty..about a years worth. I had the tranny replaced and it's still bad. The other duthler across from eastbrock mall has a few in better shape.

When I last checked a month ago, one of Duthler Fords mechanics was driving a CSVT as a daily driver.

I asked to take it for a test drive, but the salesman told me I would have to call a day ahead of time. So, I just said forget it because my name will possibly be on a Supra or 300ZX Twin Turbo.
