I've studied the pics of the SP Motorsports battery relocation kit and there's one part of this project that I am wondering about. What happens with the wires and connections under the hood that used to connect to the battery? Anyone have any closeup pics of what you did under the hood? The SP Motorsports kit looks like it just has some clamps and connectors that deal with the trunk side of the relocation. Thanks.

You need to but a remote insulated battery terminal. Moroso makes them and you can get them form Summit Racing. Just call the Tech Line and tell them what you want they'll find the part number. I can't rememeber it myself. But it's what I used and it works great.

That's part of the reason I'm thinking about moving mine. Also, there's not enough room for the heat shield I'd like to add since the KKM filter is already pressed against the battery and then you still have the wires, etc., to deal with.
I still wish someone would post a few close-up pics of their finished product under the hood.

I wouldn't do the SP Motorsports batter relo. Andy W. and I got the kits from Summit (basically the same) and were not impressed with them at all). I would do the Optima battery (sealed unit), battery tray, and J-bolt hold downs. As far as the wires in the engine bay go, get a distribution block from a radio install shop and runs the wires into it. Just my .02

I did my own kit for about $70. I picked up some 0 gauge cable, 200amp fuse, 150amp circuit breaker, and some wire covering. I love the extra room for my SCA cold air intake. Much easier to work in the engine bay.
The battery has since had a box built over it: http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/attachments/trunkresize2%2Ejpg
I rigged up a bracket for the Jacobs ignition you see in the pic. http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/attachments/photos2%2Ejpg
