Different shift points and curves. But i think a chip should just adjust that.

This is wierd. I was just talking about this to fellow CEGers here in MN. In the next couple of years I plan to strip down the car, rebuild it and use it as a personal squad car(when I get out of college). I plan to run the SVTF engine and trans. Being the aftermarket is huge for these cars I should be able to find some nice parts for it, since i will be transfering engine and tranny and of course PCM.

It would be so nice to have the 6speed. I wunder how much the PCM would cost. It would be sweet.

One thing about the PCM though It's calibrated to the SVT Engine and not a 130HP stock engine. You'd have an easier time swaping in the whole SVT drivetrain.

SVTF engine and the six-speed. I could see a few Zetec'ers hunting SVT `tours! laugh

I still dont see the need to switch PCMs when swithing manual trannies from a five speed to a 6 speed. Case in point: My brother owner of a 1995 Mustang Cobra 5.0 switch from the stock T-5, to a Dodge Viper six speed with no modification to the PCM, the PCM doesn't know what gear your in, it only knows load, RPM, and Speed(yes, I know it monitors tons more than that, but I'm breakin' it down kindergarten style here), it doesn't give a crap about gear ratio(which is all you are doing by adding a 6th gear: redistributing the gear ratios).

a 95 mustang is also OBDI where me and alot of others are OBDII and there are alot more sensors and what not in them... I know of a chicago CEGer who tripped a CEL which was a tranny code just hours before his MTX went bye bye...

If you've ever removed your MTX-75(I installed my own Quaife, clutch, and axle shafts; so I have some experience here), you'll see there are a few sensors ,but I don't see anything that would make the PCM care whether or not you have 5 or 6 forward gears. The biggest problem I can see is, does anyone know whether the bellhousing and engine castings from the FSVT are the same as the Contour? plus the need for a heavily modified subframe, and custom axle shafts.
