make sure you try a mom and pop hardware store, cause you wont find reverse thread metric in your big box stores like home depot and lowes.....my ace hardware has mroe nuts and bolts than both of those stores and we cant even get left hand metric stuff.....go figure.....

go to pep Boys, auto Zone, advanced Auto Parts, SEARS, or another hardware store and look for screw removers (not the flat black ones!!!) they have a square end and have a tapered spiral end that looks sorta like a masonry drill bit.

hope this helps, reversed threads are hard to find unless you go to a hardware store thats specialty is fuels.

Just grab the shaft with a Vise-Grip and unscrew it. It was easy on mine. The best grip would be on the wide spot just below the upper threads.

I took the two nuts tightened them together by going opposite directions on the same stud, then used an open ended wrench on the bottom nut. Took a little muscle power, but it came off. Vise grips kept slipping off on me.
