Split port???

Took my tour in for the dash replacement runaround (that's a whole other post) and they gave me a loaner 2002 Focus. I was looking at the engine and it was a SOHC and called a split port. What's the deal with this? I have not heard of it but I wasn't trying to hear anything.

ZX2 FMS wires(that don't fit my oddball coil)

Any focus that is not a ZX3 or SVT comes with the SOHC 8v(?) engine. I think but, am not sure of the fact, that it is the same engine found in the four door escorts from 97 to 2000.

the only focus that has the split port is the lx,it's a base model that is commonly given to rent a car places IIRC.

Sorry, yeah, i was goona come back and say that the ZTS four doors do have the Zetec also.

Yeah the SOHC is in the lx. They are the cheapest so they usually are for loaners or rentals. The 97-2000 Escorts(non-ZX2) did have these SOHC.
