I have completed the clutch switch removal but there is a part of the initialization of the starter where you have to put it in park and then drive and then park to check the neutral saftey switch, is there any way around this??
thanks

Hmm, not sure what you mean. I have a remote starter on my SVT, and many friends have them on their manual tranny cars... Here's how mine functions, maybe this can help you:

Driving the car I have to come to a stop, set the handbrake, leave the car in neutral and clutch out, then press the "start" button on my remote. I then remove my key while the car keeps running. I exit the vehicle and when I arm the alarm, the doors lock and the engine & parking lights shut off.

1- Clutch switch is not disabled, it does get bypassed by the electronics when the
starter is armed. Otherwise if I'm just using the alarm you have to clutch in to start the car.

2- PATS system is bypassed when the starter is armed. Otherwise it still functions as OEM intended.

3- When the starter is armed, touching anything will kill the ignition and prevent the car from starting. You have to exit the vehicle. The engine will not shut off unless all doors are locked. If you open any door, the remote starter is disarmed.

What brand are you installing? Maybe I can help with more details?

That sounds like the safest setup if you ask me.

Yup, there's no chance someone could slip the car in 1st or release the handbrake while having the starter armed. The only thing is that you have to think twice when leaving the car because if you forget something in it and disarm the alarm, as soon as you open a door or even the trunk the starter will not work any more.

I have it that way to make sure nothing ever happens. My g/f takes the car often, and we borrow each other's cars among my good friends so I'm better safe than sorry.

Liability?? confused

I don't see why you'd have a problem with that, heck, even my mom has one on her manual tranny Mazda Protege. All shops install them over here, it's really no problem if they install it without bypassing the product's safety features.

Yup, They wont do it hear because it can be a very "unsafe" product. If they have to bypass anything on the car that is there for a saftey feature then they wont do it!
I thought that was kind of stupid.
