I'm putting in a instument cluster from a styqe and I cant get the line going into my old cluster off. The 2 electrical leads came off easy, it's that metal line coming in that I can't get off. If anybody knows what I'm talking about please help!!

The plastic collar at the end of the cable behind the speedo head, should have two thinner bands on it, squeeze them and the clip should unlock from the speedo head..be careful, can get brittle over time...

Thanks Terry for the help, my cluster looks much better with a tach in it. Everything works, just the speedo is not smooth, it jumps around when I'm driving. Do you know what might be causing this?

Speedo totaly dead now, I have it pushed all the way in 2. I guess it's back to taking off the cluster again

It sounds like you didnt get the drive cable into the square of the speedo head.Your cable is in two sections with a join thru the firewall,either the speedo head or the join has become disegaged from the square drive....

I've messed with this thing so much, I've looked at both spots for the cable and they seem to be connected, I really hate saying this but I might have to take it to the dealer

Its the INNER cable that is not connected, unclip it from the speedo head and turn it until it 'slips' back in to drive at the 'join',once you cant turn it at the speedo head end you should be set to reconnect it at the head ,make sure the inner cable slide into the square of the head before you clip the outer.....dont give up!
