i had a similar problem, however i was installing an autometer tach, there is an easier spot to catch tach signal. there is an ignition box on the firewall behind the air intake that u can catch it at that is where i got mine. i believe it was a white/black wire and it was the 2nd or 3rd pin from the top. i wouldnt know without looking at the car. jus figured i would toss that up. smile

I tried drumnut's "fix" and the wire worked!! thanks man! now my "tuner" friends don't make fun of me anymore!! JK smile

Jontour- Question why did you need to do it since you have a 95? You should have had a signal wire in the loom connector that plugs into the cluster...

Also your using an older PCM was the pinout the same?

Lee, in my 95 GL, there was no number 8 pin in the left hand plug to the harness. I had to add it. I love it, thanks again drumnut!!...
