i really wouldnt touch the combat kit from prosport in the uk, its made of fibreglass and requires loads of prepping to get it to fit properly to a mondeo, never mind a contour!lol plus i had a fibreglass bodykit when i had an escort cosworth replica and i had to paint it 3 times due to the paint just sinking into the fibreglass! it was a major headache! but if youve got the time, patience and money to do it, i say go for it! good luck

what if I got someone to make a replica of it to fit the contour, would that be a better idea? since it's at the bodyshop they could do the preping and stuff. if not so hot, is there anywhere else that might have a similar kit? thanks for letting me knowabout the kit johnny

Nobody wants to try it because of the modification but my friend with a Civic just bought a body kit for his car and they have to modify the front bumper (cut it and fit it to the car, it is fibreglass). And that is a common car. I say go for it though.

loco m8, the kit this guy wants is designed specifically for the mondeo, and it doesent even fit that properly lol, it may very well be easy to fit to a contour, there are a few mondy's with this kit on over on www.fordmondeo.org in the photos forum, you guys over there might have a better way of dealing with fibreglass kits than we do but it takes a LOT of prepping before the paint goes on, thats why ive went for the genuine ford PU-RIM kit, coz i was actually thinking of the combat kit, but the costs involved were too expensive but if this guy has the money and patience to do it i say yeah, go for it! it would be cool to see a picture of it when its done!

If you do go for it, keep in mind, you will either need Mondeo crashbars (the Mondy bumpers don't stick out as far as ours), or you will need to have the shop lengthen the bumper covers. Also keep in mind, you will still need part of your front bumper cover to line it all up right. The Mondeos have a grille that touches the bumper and is more square (for the replacement that I have seen), where the US bumper actually meets the hood. You will also need to piece in the little dents in front of your wheels so the body lines still all match up. You may want to check shipping costs of these items as well. Some places charge by size, others by weight. Either way it could still hurt pretty badly. Not trying to talk you out of it, just letting you know all I have found out.

thanks for all of your help guys, i think that you are right, i did some more research on it and was able to get the specs, from both ford in europe, and here in the states. it would take way to long and a bit more money than i have at the moment. I might see though if i can find a shop that would custom male one, or see if i can get the SVT kit.
thanks again for your help, and advice.
Johnny
