Has anyone considered a throttle body spacer, and would make any beneficial difference to performance?

everything I have heard about these is that they don't really do much of anything for performance.

I ordered one from SUMMIT.Actually the spacer was originally for the Focus, but when it finally arrived, I got the right box with instuctions for the Cavalier and the part with a different part number matching neither packaging and instruction!!!! I called SUMMIT to send me the correct part # & instuctions with my request to assure that the packaging, instuructions, and part have the same part number.....and guess what?.....they did it again!!!!....

I have a comment; send me the $50, it'll have the same effect on your performance. Think about it, the CAFE thiong has got the car companies pullin their freekin hair out trying to get their avg up. Wouldn't you think with the BILLIONS Ford spends trying to get their avg up .5 MPG that they'd have this on if it really did what it claims to ? Swirling air INSIDE your combustion chamber is good, swirling air outside is,,,,a waste of money. BUT if you firmly believe it may work, you may wanna try that 'inline fuel magnet' that supposedly 'aligns' your gas molecules for more power and economy too. As long as ya got $$$ to burn. Plain and simple; 1 part fuel, 15 parts air is what your engine (basically a big air pump) needs. Increase THAT amount, either by easing air in, or out, or both, and you get more HP/Torque. THAT'S IT, all the rest of this CR@P is just that,,,,Ken
