Hi I was wondering if there was a fuel grade of choice for Zetec powered Contiques other than regular. Will a higher grade of fuel give better performance (I know it will cost more!) and if so have any of you found it worth the cost?

Thanks, David.

I have always used 93 Oct. so I couldn't tell you if there are difference in performance, I just assume it's better since it costs more lol

In BC, use Chevron premium gas, it worked for me and I liked the results!

In Alberta, I use Esso premium gas with 92 octane. Some people have found that the engine performs better with regular gas using 87 octane but I, and others, find that my Zetec likes the 92 octane!

So to answer your question, try the higher octane for more than 1 fill and see for yourself if there is any improvement in performance. If ya don't like the results stop using the premium gas!

I run 93 because I have a chip. cool When it was stock it ran better with 87. The price for 93 was pointless for an unmodded car. wink

I had my chip programmed to run 92, so I use Chevron Supreme.

Well the highest grade out here is 91 and ive found that the engine runs MUCH smoother with 91 than the 87.
