Hahaha, Ive got a 96 that has like 27k on it- i got it about a month ago. i think the old couple that had it before me NEVER cleaned them...so i tried a bottle of the cleaner, i didnt really notice anything. around how much does it cost to get them professionally cleaned?

Is it possible for the average mechanically minded person to remove and clean the fuel injectors to a satisfactory ( read like they do at a garage) level that would make a difference in the vehicles performance such as Sasmaster6000 writes? Do tell, I'd love to do it myself as prices I've been quoted are in the high (compared to a bottle of STP!)
Thanks, DavidBC

I'll find out when I get them out and take a look. It is, of course, possible that I might end up ruining the injectors and have to buy new ones...

Forget cleaning them. Get a set of new ones for $200 from fordpartsonline!!! You won't regret it. It helped my '96 with 90k soooo much.

Yank the intake tubing/box, unbolt the fuel rail, and pop them out. They are easy to change!
