not cheap
The focus has the same headers and cat as our car... well atleast it looks exactly like ours except for a different heat shield.

So then this header will work on our cars?

didn't say that...
I said the STOCK headers and cat are the same...
clearences between the motor and the radiator is less on the contour than the focus as I said above... SOOOOO without knowing the measurements for the headers there is no way to know.

my guess is No they will not.

so if I found a focus header that would clear everything from what you are saying it would be a direct bolt on is that right?

yes all Zetec use the same bolt pattern on the headers it is just the cougar, zx2, zx3, and tours have difference clearences.
someone on here did some leg work and looked up the gaskets at ford to find they all used the same one. just wise I could remember who did that to give them credit for their find.

Yes they all bolt to the motor but not the cat Zx2 has a 2 bolt flange on the cat, zx3 has a 3 bolt flange on the cat,
my car has a 4 bolt flange on tne cat, dont know about the cougar

Well I checked a while ago and the ZX2 and our exhaust manifold gaskets are the same part number. The ZX3 has a different part number for the gasket. confused

The problem you run into with the ZX2 is the VCT setup if you have a Pre98 car. You would have to cut out an area and weld a nut for the EGR pipe to go in. I think that the bolt pattern on the Focus is different I've looked at it a while ago and I think that was a concern, but barring any other clearance issues a ZX2 header should work for a 98+ car. Just make sure you get it from a shop that will take returns.
