Hi everybody, I own a 1995 gl with atx. Anyway this car has 143k and it seems to run very sluggish and very slow!! My mods were magnaflow muffler, cta intake, both intake and exhaust resonators removed, and a high flow catalytic converter. It's horrible because even after all these mods the car seems to have horrible acceleration and EVERY rice easily whips it. My question is, is this car a pos or is there something wrong with it? My repairs include all mounts replaced, o2 sensor replaced, all new filters, new coil pack-plugs-and wires, speed sensor, thermostat, and pcv valve. I have no cel but the engine idles very low and sometimes stalls when changing gear. Possible culprit egr valve?

No idea what the problem could be, but Im sure it can be fixed. BTW, if you do decide to sell the car, would you be interested in selling that intake?

how long since you replaced the egr valve??? should be replaced every 60k if I'm remembering correctly... has the car always had this porblem with the acceleration since you got the performance stuff or did this start reacently? and after you did these mods did you reset the computer and let it re learn?

one more thing the injectors..... have you ever used anything to clean them??? if not you may want to look in to either a gas tank additive to clean the or a professional cleaning of them that could be part of the problem...

I believe it's the original egr valve but how come no cel? btw original timing belt  I would say the car has performed worse since the upgrades. I also reset computer.

The original timing belt might have a lot to do with it. Change it!

Change timing belt and check the EGR. The reason the EGR may not be throwing a cel is because the computer may be getting a full signal. If it didnt get a full signal then you would have a cel. Also check to see if the TB, MAF, and IAT are all clean and there is no gunk around them.

I also reset computer.I see you like to play with fire.... 100k+ on the original belt... change that and get the ERG replaced... or like chetor said drive it to terry's place give him some cash and want for him the be done with your turbo and  you will be happy all over again....
