HEy everyone, i was reading in SCC that the Zetecs camshaft or something in that region "shatters like champagne glasses" Will the Focus zetec replacement be able to work with the Contours? Also, the new SVT focus Zetec, will that fit into my engine bay with no problems?!

What Focus Zetec replacement are you referring to?? The SVT Focus engine should fit with little modification to the car...I would think.

Never heard of one of our cams shattering, in fact I've seen them do 100K with not alot of wear considering.
My spare set had done 52K before my engine blew but the cams are in tip top condition.

I think SCC was talking about the rods on the Zetec. I think Terry can tell you how strong the rods are.

"Under stress, ZX3 connecting rods are known to shatter like plastic champagne glasses, which is why they were replaced with forged steel units" I copied and pasted this from the SCC website. Sorry, I am not very mechanical.
