Am i just wasting my time and ruining my brakes trying to get my tires to spin from a stop? I drop the atx into low gear, turn off the overdrive, slam on foot on the break, the other on the gas, let go of the break, and nothing happens (maybe a little chirp). I guess my tires were supposed to start spinning, but it didn't happen. Am i doing to process wrong or do i just have my car confused with a car that has balls?

I know, i'm ignorant, that's why i have you guys to make fun of me before my friends make fun of me to my face.

pete

(on a positive note, i did have my first sucessful "kill" when i raced some 95ish blazer from a stop light. It was raining. His tires spun and mine didn't laugh ) The poor guy had his prom date in the seat next to him)

It's really hard to powerbrake a front wheel drive car... If you want to spin tires pull the E-Brake and hit the gas... Powerbraking only works well on rear wheel drive cars, seeing as how cars use something like 80% of the braking power to the front and the other wee bit to the rear brakes.

Dont tromp on the gas, just hold the brake and slowly push the gas. You should feel ur car slightly lift forward, then pop the brake out and tromp on gas. That may work. Or just go around a corner and tromp on it.

Power braking a FWD car is a perfect way to roast your transmission

the tour is too heavy to do it on the 4banger

don't ebrake it. i've done that before and u just wear down a certain spot on ur tires and u end up needing new tires

how about this...u know when u pull into the driving area of a store, where the parking spots are or the passage is to the spots and how the driving entrance is a bit off the ground? well, when ur going down the street and u have to take a right turn to get into the entrance of the driving area, FLOOR it. it will feel weird.

I'm tired now...sorry if that sounds weird. lol

Don't try to chirp your tires if the car won't do it on it's own or you'll be wearing out trans parts. Plus, if you do get them to chirp and that's it, your friends will be making more fun of you for even trying and only getting the little chirp.

If you want more performance, get a chip to change your ATX shift points, open up the exhaust and intake a little bit. Should help get you more kills (which aren't to be posted on CEG BTW wink ).

Trying to spin your tires on your tour will in time damage your front drivetrain, then you will need new split shafts. And they arn't cheap either.
