16" (good) or 17" (best).
Larger wheels will eat up some hp,
smaller will effect acceleration (require more revolution of tire to gain speed).

to answer your question yes they will fit.......i have 18 x 7.5, with 215 tires........with stock springs, slight rubbing when 4 people are in the car, only on bumps and dips, stiffer springs no rubbing due to no bouncing........hope that helps some......also, depending on what your purpose may be, as my purpse is not necessarily to go as fast as others, i just want to look good......besides they dont hurt acceleration that bad anyways........but 18's on the contour look sweet as hell! i think they are just the right size........dont regret goin that big at all! cool

I running a 225-40-18 with stock suspension still. I rarely rub unless i have about four people in the car like tricked96 mentioned with him. Anyways you will feel like your car is slower but thats just cause it takes more to turn them, you wont lose horsepower though. Trust me on this, 18's, if you get the right style look way better than 17's on a tour. I have Diablo Racing C-9s from dynamicwheels.com
You can see my car on the zetecregister on zetecinside.com

I would have to agree that 18s look very well on our Contiques but I don't understand the logic behind

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't it take (use) more power to turn more weight?!? Someone else here might have posted this but I will repeat it anyway... for every additional pound the engine has to turn (i.e. axles, WHEELS, etc...) you lose 2.7 hp. Unless you find a bad ass set of 18s that are super light (and let me know if you do!) you will lose hp, sorry. I don't mean to start trouble just stating facts.

Oh yea and I believe 19s are as large as our vehicles will fit smile ( and correct me if I am wrong)

Quality is remembered long after cost is forgotten.

...Oh sorry I guess I am just another stupid kid who doesn't know anything...
