For a really balls out race car sound, just take everything off after the headers. I never thought a contour could get that classic american v8 rumble. * Don't think its quite legal, but I was on the closest path to get the bolts to fix my exhaust. Man was that loud.
But seriously if you want true race(Illegal on the streets), its supertrapp all the way.

Since you were all so helpful with Drumnut and Jim Richards, how about helping me choose a system? I have the single stock exhaust, I haven't done anything to it. Now that I'll have my CTA allowing more air in, I need to let the air out. I don't want it to be really loud, like OhSigmaChi's, but still noticable. It needs to be a dual system because I'm getting the body kit from the GB page. Should I get a used SVT system and modify that, or would it be easier to just buy a whole new system? I'm not in a big hurry, I just need to finish this before I get that body kit. Thanks, Eric

Chatty, I know there are plenty of decent exhast shops in "the Vegas" (I'm oridinally from Cleveland). Hit up L8 Apexing aussie for a couple of Magnaflows, or run a bassani style exhaust with the muffler(maganflow, dynomax you choice) where the resonator is, and then just a couple of small resonators after the "Y" split or some quality resonated tips.

Ok, so does anyone know of a good shop around here that would do that? I could probably get that done sometime next month, if it isn't too expensive, of course.

I was told by a few people that Borlas duel 3" bent tip mufflers would look good and then i also had certain people tell me that Borlas 4" import style muffler would be good. I don't think a big azz muffler like that would look good on a contour, i thought maybe the duel style would look good. They are called Boomers. Just go to Borla's web site and go to universal exhaust. Magnaflow has a better variety as well as the same styles that borla has but for about 100 bucks less. I am confused still  Decisions decisionds.....

The closer you put the muffler to the rear of the car you wil get the more "euro/import" "BBVRRT" sound out of your zetec(especially w/ the imprt style mufflers.

I don't think I want to immortalize myself through a contour exhaust just yet

OK, then, let's get down to business. First how far are you planning on taking your Contour. I myself am absolutely positive that, baring some unforseen tragedy, I will keep my contour forever, and that a full0out turbo conversion is immeninent. So, what do you want? OUt of you contour and out of your exhaust?
