I have some differences in my car that I've noticed while playing under the hood.
I recently changed my fuel filter. My books all tell me to pull the fuse #13 or something, IIRC, and crank the car up and let it run until it dies from lack of fuel pressure. Didn't happen. Ran for about 10 minutes before I looked in the manual in the glove box for a fuse layout. It was way different. When I installed the CTA, #4 and #11 are supposed to be pulled to reset the CPU. Not me it's #6.

I also have a different coil than most of you guys. My brother in law has a focus and yesterday I was comparing engines w/him and it turns out that we have to same coil. Go figure. So now my question is "will the focus wires work for me?" Also, what other Focus parts might work?

Let me know if anyone else has noticed these things and what they have tried/done that I can do to my car.
We shall see what we find in the future.

I think somebody else was recently discussing that the spark coil was different for like half a year in '99... that's the first I've ever heard of a different fuse layout, though.

I just changed my fuel filter and with the correct fuse out, it ran out of gas and stopped in just a second or two.

I agree with Paul. Where did you get your "books" In the Haynes manual it tells you what fuse to pull.

I am the other person talking about the coil. The Haynes manual had a different fuse layout than the owners manual, which is just the little booklet that tells you how big you gas tank is, tire pressure, when to change the oil, etc. I'm very curious about this car now. It runs really good, so no complaints on performance (yet) but I would like to know if I have other options open to me now. confused confused

I remember the owners manual being wrong and the Haynes being right when I changed my fuel filter.

Go figure...

Does no one else have this car? Somebody has got to have a 99 SE ATX out there. Let me know what you think might be different about our cars. Maybe we have some other options available to us (prob. not though).

Do you know when (or where) it was made? I looked up the VIN from the thing on the CEG website. I know mine was born in June and not made in Mexico(don't remember where the other plant was). I also know they changed a lot of things in the middle of the year. I think it was part of the "new" batch. This is such a mystery.
