I've seen ~2700-2800lb list weight for a 96 Tour, but even at that your still 500-600lb's heavier. Plus if your racing cars with manuals good luck. I really wish I had that MTX. My Aunt's accord motors along really well with the manual, the difference is nothing short of amazing.

What do you mean by new intake? I just installed a cta. And by opening up the exhaust what would you reccomend? I currently have the resonator removed and a magnaflow muffler on the back, my plans were to either install a svt exhaust or move the magnaflow to where the resonator used to be and put a y pipe on with just 2 tips.

Oh, forgot about that part of your post. As long as the car is running the way its supposed you should be running pretty close with most 'rice burners'. Driver skill is an important part of racing and the weight difference I mentioned is a pretty big factor. You should start looking at other performance mods if you want to beat people at races. I mean new cams, cam gears, intake manifold, exhaust header, turbo, s/c, etc......also consider trying to lighten the car to make it quicker. Removing things like door panels, window motors, door lock motors, spare tire/jack, keep the gas tank half full. There are many many things you can do to keep the car lighter than stock.

I wonder how much lighter the car would be if all the steel frame and body stuff were replaced with titanium and carbon fiber...
