I just read that they are from a 2001 ranger. Does anyone know the type of transmission? Supposedly it can be turbo'ed with any t-bird turbo coupe or svo mustang setup.

Do you guys think this could be an engine up grade posability.

Duratec HE is a 16 valve DOHC I4 that represents the next step after the Zetec.

The SVO Mustang/Thunderbird TC/XR4ti 2.3 were 8 valve SOHC motors derived from the old 2.0/2.3 SOHC motors.

I doubt any of the SOHC 2.3 turbo stuff is going to bolt onto the Duratec HE. It is 10-15 year old technology anyway...

So do you have any idea if it will bolt to a CDE4 or MTX75, Can we use this motor.

I was just reading that it does work, How much if any custom work I don't know I just read it.

I'm looking for info myslef. we need to find out what kind of transaxle, and if the motor mounts are in the same location.

If it will work on car-parts.com has have them complete for about a grand.

2.3 duratec a step up over the Zetec. you remember the old 87-88 t-bird turbo coupe. I don't know if theres any custom work involved though. Still checking to see if it uses the same tranny and motor mounts.

I'm curious about the bell housing on the trannies. I know the MTX-75 and Jatco 5 speed ATX are supposed go with this engine, as well as the Duratec 3L. However, I'm not sure if they finally made it to where they don't have two different versions of the same tranny. The Duratech HE might actually bolt up to the old V6 trannies.

Plus, I think the new I-4 has VVT for both cams, too.
