I guess I missed that when I read the motor trend article. the info on it at the chicago auto show doesn't mention the VCT on the exaust just on the intake though. car mags have been wrong before.

Just a word of warning here.
95-98 engines, IIrc, are hydraulic lifter engines, while the others are mech lifter engines. There are also differences in waterpump rotation and location on the block.

that's right I should of thought of that.... the VCT zetec's water pump is located towards the front of the engine made it fun for me and Locozetecse to put the underdrive pulley on cause he needed a bigger belt cause of it.

I have seen the Focus SVT cylinder head in person and the VCT is on the intake only. For further proof look at the bulge in the upper timing belt cover here:

I stand corrected.

No way the VCT soleniod could fit under that cover without the protrusion in it.

Now where can I get one of those exhaust manifolds/header?? Looks like stainless steel.

if only that dang focus svt motor wasnt mated for a friggin 6 speed........would be a nice engine swap......
