well......at least i think so.....within the past week i have put on the rear svt bumper, brand new complete magnaflow exhuast and the cta intake......let me say what a difference in sound this has made....i am actually proud of owning a zetec now! laugh

no i dont have any pics or sounds clips as of now......but to all you peeps out there with the cta intake......couple of questions......what did you do about the gap between the filter and the fender.....also, does removing the maze of plastic in the fender really help airflow that much? and one more.....what have you done abotu heat soak...... thanks.

Got any pics or sound clips?! :p

1. Dont have the CTA, not sure what I'd do about the gap. Try getting an SVT fender boot and modifying it to fit the filter.

2. Yes, it helps. With the resonators in the fender it directs air into a plenum for a certain sound but without that stuff air can freely flow up to the fender hole.

3. Heat Shield from John Miks...Have him make one for the Zetec KKM and then modify it once you get it to fit around the CTA....with its close proximity to the fender at least two of the panels on the shield will need to be shortened.

The gap- nothing; don't need to.

The resonator in fender- don't know if it makes a difference. I removed mine to put in my sidemarkers.

Heat soak- haven't had any heatsoak issues so nothing.

I stretched out some of the connections in the CTA piping so that the filter wasn't too far from the fender. I figure the shortness may be a good thing -- it might leave enough room to shoehorn an E-ram into there.

Here is my homemade heat shield . (To which I still need to add one small additional piece in front of the fusebox, I recently realized.)

96 GL Zetec ATX, white with pinstripe, nickname " Sam Smooth "
mods so far: CTA intake with homemade heat shield, KVR drilled front rotors & carbon pads w/ 500° fluid
planned mods: exhaust (want to keep it quiet), e-ram (awaiting installation), diablo chip
involuntary mods: compression increased after head gasket failure

mine was pretty close to the fender and it is good to take out all that stuff in the fender so more air gets in...
