Thanks for chiming in 99SVTguy, I knew you had first hand experience with the MarkVIII and thought everyone would benefit from your take. Nothing like a 50yard burnout in your dad's 40 thousand dollar car! LMAO!

We were talking about constructive things until it was chimed in that there was no need to do anything to the zetec cause no matter the amount of mods it would never beat a Mark VIII.... This is why we brought it up...not because we wanted to trash anyone...simply defending the honor of all things zetec

REDHAWK- IT'S MARK VIII, NOT MARK VIII. THAT'S A WHOLE DIFFERENT CAR, THAT WOULD PROBABLY SMOKE THE MODDED ZETEC AS WELL. 225 HORSE 5.0 WHOLEHEARTED MUSTANG GT ENGINE. MY MOTHER HAD TWO OF THOSE. I THINK IT ACTUALLY HAD MORE TORQUE THAN THE 4.6 IN THE MARK VIII. VIII MEANS 8. VII MEANS 7.
i will always have a comeback! :o)

Speed kills... Sorry about that... has been edited. What's wrong with this picture? REDHAWK- IT'S MARK VIII, NOT MARK VIII. THAT'S A WHOLE DIFFERENT CAR, I guess we both have to slow down

Ooops, my bad. must've misread as I had to do the quick hide thing like 4 times while reading this post....darn bosses! BTW, I haven't been able to fry the bimmer's tires...the brakes are just so darn strong! I have been able to catch a couple of wheels and a quick slide while turning left/right on the way to the parts store.

sorry redhawk, but looks like someone fuc8id with my post. i always edit before i post. someone has inside ties it looks like. even so, you've been calling it a Mark VII for the past three days. like i said, that was a whole different car that was introduced way back in '84. it evolved a lot over thru '92, but was the same basic design. engines changed a lot (302 that is). it went from 140 horses in '84, to 225 in '87-'92. anywho, yada yada yada.
i will always have a comeback! :o)

I smell a conspiracy...
That's cool. Have you ever owned any of the Mark cars? After reading John's post, I have to admit it sure did seem to have a lot of bells and whistles.

yep, still got the '93. the only bad thing with the Mark (and any other ford car) is that they just build too many of them. they don't really hold thier value. a used one can be had for a minumum of like $5000 with over 100K miles. but yes, they really are trick. a true luxury hot rod. with a push of a button (the traction-control) to shut it off, you have a car with an all aluminum 32 valve V8 that will do a hefty burnout to make a manual mustang gt owner look on in disbelief.
i will always have a comeback! :o)
