I am looking for a instrument panel with a four cylinder tach. All the ones I have seen say "6cyl' in big letters. wondering if I am looking for something that really exists.

yes. they exist, i have one. came with the sport models only i believe (mine is). my car's also an automatic.

I have one in my 98 Mystique GS.

my 95 Mystique LS has a tach, the funny thing about it is instead of the large V6 you get a tinny little number 4 just under the needle

on a side note the 4 and the 6 seem to rev the same, on the highway at 70 each pull 3 grand. the difference I see is where the 6 can pull in 5th around 2 grand in the 4 you have to downshift

Yeah, my 97 GL sport has a tach, too. Nice seeing that 6500 redline .

you guys are the LUCKY few.... mine doesn't so I must say hello to an autometer tach soon

zetecracing- all mystiques have tachometers. find one out of a junkyard. dont know how hard it would be to install it though. the mystiques are a little more fancy than contours. rear dome lights, cooler, lower, wider looking front end and fenders. better looking rear end. i love my '97 rare colored portofino blue with the factory directional alloys. its paid for and runs like a top. gets 28-30 mpg too. :p
