Hopefully, zxtuner.com will have a zetec Contour "project car" to perform hp and styling infusions to.

I just bid on a vandalized insurance salvage car. Auction closes 1/30 at 3pm. It's a sealed bid auction so I'm going to have to keep my fingers crossed smile

If I get it, the first thing I'd like to do is complete the intake I mothballed and send the hood off to be used as a mold. Who'd like to buy a Carbon Fiber hood?

Too bad its not a 98+, or I'd be all over the CF hood!

$365 for the hood if I can get at least 10 takers. That way the $1500 mold charge is waived.

Do you think you can post something on the GP area? I know other people have to be interested in this. Can I assume we can paint the hood body colored as well? Thanks.

you can paint them, but it would be a shame to cover up the great finish.

the cf hood comes standard in black color, but a blue, red, yellow, or kevlar colored mat is available too for $100 more

I plan on offering it soon, but right now I'm still shipping off the last two molds that were done - ZX2 and 91-96 Escort/Tracer.

I'll probably be ready to solicit in about 2 weeks.

Did the hoods change any between the years? They all look about the same. I'm definately interested though. Is $365 going to be shipped or No? I'm guessing no. This will be a bolt on hood correct. Stock shape with holes and everything predrilled, molded in. What are the odds of adding scoops/vents/cowls to this hood? Maybe after the first ten order are full and you have the mold made? Custom orders could be accpeted? Any thoughts? laugh

Anythings possible - but here's the deal with adding scoops/vents etc...

You'll need to fabricate a finished hood in steel/fiberglass to produce a new mold for any hood shape change such as scoops or vents.

This means you'd need to find 10 other people who'd be happy with your hood w/ scoop design as well as your scoop grafting craftsmanship in order to proceed.

I'm not experienced enough to submit a good enough finished product to the mold maker - after all the hood's only as good as the mold, so it'd have to be up to you, or a person who will be paid to create the prototype hood, which will raise the hood cost significantly IMHO.

I am interested with or without the scoop. just not sure on when I would have the funds for it.
