hey guys, I am becoming ery frustrated with the zetec right now, I just got it ack after spending 800 $$ to have a new timing belt put on after it slipped off driving on the interstate. 2 weeks later (last night) car died twice in the middle of a turn, but I was able to start it back up instantly, then the third time it dies as i am pulling out of a parking lot and would not start. ie turned over but would not fire. Since I nust had it in the shop 2 weeks ago everything was, or was supposed to have been checked. I had new plugs installed and everything was working fine until last night. After 15 minutes or so of me looking around under the hood in the dark it started again and ran fine all the way home. Now I am scared to drive it because I am afraid it will die again and not be able to be restarted and I dont want to have it towed and be stranded. Can anyone offer any help on what I can do to check it out, I am by no meansa mechanic but i am fairly knowlegable about these cars until you have to start taking the engine apart. Can anyone help? By the way it is a 95 I4 Zetec GL ATX

well, it sounds like an electrical malady. Time to invest in a scan tool. When it happens, look for a code. That will point to the culprit (hopefully)

It didn't throw a CEL when this was happening?

The problem with relying on a CEL is the CEL comes on everytime the car is on but not running. That goes for before you start it or if it stalls.

Try checking the wires into the steering pump load sensor. they rub on the bonnet and break and give a stall when turning
A quick check is to unplug and plug in the sensor while running, it should result in a change of rpm
Take a look at the idle problems page on my web site for more info
