Hey,
Well you will notice just a hair in the peformance side, but not much to really talk about, and I hd no chancge in gas milage differance, but it makes yur exhuast just a little louder. Ford told me it would be around $300 bucks, but if you don't want to get rid of the cat. I would not buy a factory one, I would get a unv. one.
Hopes this helps. later Nick

What did you do with the now large, hollow chamber that was created. Did you put any kind of tubing inside?

Hey Kai, we have yellow inspection stickers here. Dosen't that mean we do not have emissions testing only safety inspection? I've mostly lived in Charlotte and we had to do both but some of my friends outside the city with yellow stickers and they said they don't have emissions inspection, so is it the same here too? If so, bye bye cat guts!! He he that sounded weird.

Ah, sorry, just noticed that your post was directed at me! shocked

Anywho, yeah, we have emissions here too. It's included in the safety inspecion. My dad's old '73 GMC truck failed one year because of a part in his exhaust went bad. In fact, he ended up just selling the truck because the part had become nearly and antique and would cost over $100 + shipping, which is about what the truck was worth! eek

But, yeah, you'll need to keep those cat guts in, sorry. You could move to South Carolina, I guess, they no longer have inspections of any kind.

The have testing here, but about 10 mins north of me, they don't (different county).

I was wondering what would happen if you were to put a tube inside the now hollow cat, but so it was flared slightly on the inlet side so it matched the exhaust manifold. It would work, just need to find a way to hold the bottom end in place or it would rattle like nothing else.
