Today I took off my k&n from my v6 camaro(selling) and put it on my contour just as a quick fix till the good intake comes in the mail. So anyways, i go to rip out the stock air filter box and theres a tube running through the bottom right corner of it collecting air. Starting to get worried I followed the tube to the outside of the box then over to the back of the valve cover. the tube has an oily filter at the edge of the box. whats this for, what happens when yoiu get the kkm intake??does it hook in somewhere? right now i just led the tube over to the edge by the fender, in hopes that it will be fine for now, it runs fine, should i be worried?? Help!!
thanks,
Derek Johnson

It's a crankcase breather filter.. KKM will include a tiny little filter that you put on the end of the hose and ziptie someplace under the hood.

The hose on my engine got disconnected somehow a few months back. Noticed some gunk around the opening.. If you're just leaving it disconnected for a couple days, you should be alright. Might make a tiny mess, nothing too bad.

I bought a crank case filter for a honda and rigged it up on mine. I used a small 45 degree tube and connected it to that. It looks good everyone around my way likes the way it looks.
