I agree. Mine is a 95 and will hit 100,000 next week. Even at 3800 miles, the oil is still clear on the stick. The only money I've put on the motor is a set of plugs/wires, 2 O2 sensors and a timing belt.
Just my impression that I'll have problems with the tranny or suspension before the Zetec.

I drive my car into the ground. Jack rabbit starts followed by 6500 RPM shifts, down shift into sharp corners, burn through the turn and then slam on the brakes at a red light. Thats my usual Friday night cruise X 100. Just add some Hondas, Neons, Intergras, S-10s, Nissans, Eclipses, and V6 Mustangs etc etc...

I believe its a very well built/designed engine...and I drive mine very hard! I live in Denver and love driving through mountains, and I regularly make trips to Oklahoma City to visit family. I haven't put any money into this car besides routine maintenance...and one or two other mods. wink

Does the CTA intake improve acceleration?

Same here! Mine gets beat-up pretty badly. My thing is on and off-ramps...love to approach the red when getting on the freeway, and love trying to outrun cars on the freeway when I'm on the off-ramp
laugh

Mine just topped 70k and the only problems I've had are leaking waterpump and split A/C line (I think Ford did that when they replaced the w/p, but I can't prove it). Regular maintenance and she loves me for it. I recommend having your fuel system cleaned if you haven't done it. I had it done @ 50k or so and the thing drove like a brand new car!!

Yep, not consistantly though, I like to get some gas mileage. Its fun, Ive street raced many cars and Im not talking about street draging. Anyone can do that. Im talkin straight up, Ill race you from here to K-mart on the other side of town, kind of street racing. Crazy but its fun
