Recently I have been experiencing a very strange phenomenon with the radio in my Tour the nature of which is as follows. After driving the vehicle and switching of the engine and removing the key from the ignition after a short period of time the light on the clock will change intensity and the radio will power up. In addition, the remote keyless entry system will not function, however, after the car sits for a few hours everything will return to normal. Have any of you guys ever experienced this strange phenomenon let me know and advise me how and what was done to correct it. It should be noted that it mostly occurs after the vehicle is driven in the rain.

Thanks for your comments guys but I would like to take this opportunity to make the following statement. The Contour is the first Ford product I have ever owned and based on my experience to date one thing I am sure of is the fact that I will never again procure any product with the name Ford affixed to it. Ford is reputed to be one of the oldest manufactures of the motor car and I am amazed that after all these years they are unable to produce that has some reliably and shows some thought and consideration for those of us who are DIY persons (has anyone tried to replace the bottom water hose or have you seen the carpet on the passenger side just to mention a few items). It is therefore no wonder that the Japanese products like the Toyota Camry is a top seller and I am seriously considering procuring one of their products. My apologies to all you Ford supporters but I just had to express my disappointment in their product so please forgive my indiscretion.

These cars do STRANGE things when the battery starts to die. Check it out, it could be just low voltage from impending battery death.

Lance thanks for the suggestion, however, my battery is relatively new and I recently had it checked by the dealers and they gave it a clean bill of health. It?s my opinion that Ford desperately needs to do something about their quality control as it's presently sadly lacking
