ok here it goes?? i have a stock exhuast on my zetour with the res and a 40 series flowmaster on it. i am thinkin about putting another pipe with it i guess you would call it the y-pipe?? anyway i dont want to spend 600 bucks for a fancy system i was going to just go get a new 2.25 pipe put on and have the res removed with a straight pipe? but i was wondering if i could get the y-pipes out of the plain 2.25 pipes?? to give it the dual exhaust look?? ok will i lose power?? will it sound good? is it worth it?? im just plain and simple this is my everyday driver here im not going to put any chips or anything into it just simple mods like tint all round ventshades head light covers and id like to find some of those svt wheels like the countour guy has on his tour i think there eo svt rims?? any way i would like some info and so sorry for the long post but hey you guys and gals know the deal about these things right?? right?? ok thank you very much laugh laugh laugh

I have been looking into this also but no one seems to know. The only thing that might make a difference is we would lose back pressure. Which as I've been told is your low end. But, I don't know for sure.

Why we are on the subject of exhaust, has anyone ever put glasspacks on the "Z"

I have an SVT exhaust on my 98 tour. I'm still debating the overall benefits and haven't made a final decision.

Looks/Appearance: needs new tips to look good on a non-SVT rear bumper.
Sound: Very nice, cold morning starts are awesome. Gives the Zetec a nice growl. Would be louder with removal of the resonator.
Performance: Yes, you will lose some back pressure and removing the res. for volume would make this worse. It's great once you are going but off the line you lose torque. Gas mileage went up, mated with a KKM induction. You must have a free flowing intake or there won't be enough air flowing through the engine to make the exhaust useful.
What your talking about might work a little better. The SVT pipe size is a big increase over stock.

By The Way, these are E1 wheels on my Zetec.

Since you're not planning on doing any extensive engine mods I would stick with a single pipe. The wheels you're looking for are probably 98 SVT wheels...not 98.5 like mine. The rounder looking five spokes with the center cap? E0 are the 98's(rounded) E1 are the 98.5's(like mine, hard edges) laugh
