IIRC, the zx2 is very similiar, some foci have slightly different engines. Something about split port I think. As far as the escape and tribute I have no idea. But I imagine if it's called a zetec it's probably pretty similiar.

The split port is on the non zetec, i have an escort, but not a zetec, but they are both swapable, the diffrence between the zx2 and zx3 focus are no diffrent in reality, though some parts were redesigned, everything is basically interchangeable I just wondered since this same zetec is the escapre/tribute, zx2,zx3.. that it could also be here too.. Since ford doesnt announce this new so public on its compacts, and sub compacts.. oh, and SUVs now

Funny part is when i first got into domestic compacts, Just about EVERYONE would deny how interchangable these things are.. I think everyone who speaks up with ignorance is really ruining this opportunity for all of us here.

There still are the smaller version zetecs in europe , I don't plan on this swap, but the information would be useful too.. Time to put the links together.

ZX2 and ZX3 are DOHC whereas my Zetec is merely a variable valve timing control. I think there are more parts available for the first two than for our Zetec engine. However, I have been contemplating an entire engine swap so I can get Ford's FRP's 304 hp Focus engine!

Your Zetec should also be a DOHC shouldn't it? My 98 is and it has VCT also, I thought all Contour Zetec's were DOHC. Someone please verify.

Ooops, sorry, I was not quite accurate in my assessment. The Contour Zetec is not a DOHC, and neither is the ZX2. The ZX3, however, is. So, if you find any parts that are available for the ZX2 then they are compatible with our engine. i.e. www.gude.com They have all sorts of induction goodies like throttle bodies, cams, and other stuff. I just got off the phone with them. The VCT Zetec, which is what we have, acts like a DOHC but it is not a true DOHC. Pretty confusing, but it seems that there are more parts available than I originally thought. I need to back through my FRP catalog now! This could get interesting.

in my manual it says 16 valve, DOHC

something like 1993 cc

i think you're getting confused with the SPI engine they use on the focus. the zetec is 16v DOHC
