Advancing the timing and fattening the fuel curve may affect emissions performance, will cause hard restarts (if you leave the pots on), and require a higher octane fuel all the time. Zetecs love timing advance from a power standpoint They also have a meaner sound at full throttle. I use the pots for track and street racing only... I have a update of the original pot idea regarding a micro switch on the throttle linkage which activates the pots at full throttle only, but I haven't done an install yet. I'll go and hunt out the relevant electronic components from the attic (should have everything) and hopefully get a simple system going by the end of the week. I do like the throttle resistor idea, nice and neat. I'll have to see if I've got a suitable OpAmp/Comparator lying around. Keep me updated! Mark.
