I see conflicting reports. Some of the posts say the zetec is a non-interference, chilton says it is an interference engine. I have 65,000 miles and I'm wondering about my timing belt. If I replace it I might get a new intake cam gear too.

i got mine changed at 80,000. that's what the euro spec is according to some mondeo owners here.

for what it is worth, you are supposed to change the water pump at the same time as the timing belt. and guess what!!?? i have one for sale! $65 and i'll pay shipping. see the clasifieds for more info.

Why do you want to change the intake cam gear?

Well i guess its time to replace the timming belt. As for the adjustable intake gear, it looks like it's a waste of money from talking with some of the zx2 owners that have one.

I did have my waterpump replaced about 20,000
miles ago so thanks for the offer baco99.

So has anyone replaced the belt themselves?
If not how much were you charged?

The only time you need vernier cam gears is when you are running hot cams to get the timing spot on.Save your cash!,all you need is a belt.
