I'm going to the muffler shop this weekend and just wanted to get some thoughts on getting a glasspack replacing the resonator.

How does it sound inside/outside(droneing)?
what what are your thoughts on mufflers(dynomax)?

I have a glasspack on my Zetec. You can hear a couple of my sound clips here:

I have a Flowmaster muffler, and the glasspack cut the droning down to almost nothing. It still growls nicely under acceleration. I like the sound of the Flowmaster, but I don't know about the sound of any others. If you have any questions just ask.

I have just a glasspack in place of the res and I am getting tired of the sound. You can tell its a glasspack. Im thinking about a flowmaster in place of the gp. Drumnut, which flowmaster do you have? Is it in place of the stock muffler?

I have a 40-series (non-Delta Flow) Flomaster, PN 42042. It's in place of the stock muffler. Paid about $50 for it.

OH nice audio clips. I like the sound(not ricey). Nice and deep, for a 4banger. Are those clips taken from inside? Do you have any acceleration sounds? What kind of gains did you get(gas milage/HP & TQ)?

The clips were recorded in my driveway with a mic placed a few inches from the exhaust tip. I haven't figured out how to record any acceleration runs yet, but I'll get it eventually.

Gas mileage doesn't seem to be adversely affected. No hard performance numbers, but the butt dyno seems to say a noticeable gain in mid to top-end power...not to mention the sounds at those rpm's are great!

I bet it does sound great! I have to convince my wife it sounds better in the car since it's her daily driver( she thinks it's too raspy). I can't imagine having it done and two months from now she's screaming at me to kill the noise!! I hope it has a high WAF(wife acceptance factor) or I'll need to be rescued. later, Tim
