80 miles from the Academy? I just got back, and it looks like there's a bit of a haze up here at USAFA, but nothing's really changed. I think we're supposed to cut back on how much we run, but that's about all that I can see.

I live in Monument, about a mile north from the Academy. I teach at Lewis-Palmer High School (you can see it just off the Interstate). Glad to see you here. Introduce yourself to the group and tell us a bit about yourself and your car.

OK, I'm C2C Wallace, meaning I've finished my first two years at the Academy. I'm studying biology and hoping to go to medical school when I finish here. Since we're not allowed to have cars during our first two years here, I was just allowed the privilege at the end of May. It's a completely stock 99 SE sport with the automatic (they didn't make the SE sport with a manual, did they?). I'll put a picture up here sometime soon.

If I figured it right, it's about 0.4% total area.

Wallace, I had an ex who went to the Academy and then to med school. She just became a doctor a couple weeks ago. Good luck with your goals.

Welcome Wallace.
The wind has shifted and they've got it around 70% contained. It's up to 140K acres now. They've scoured it enough around the Palmer Lake/USAFA area that it shouldn't move any further East. A good friend of mine will be starting there next year. I often though about putting in for my tour there as an instructor but just haven't gotten to it yet.
