Well I've come to the conclusion altitude sucks ...

I went down to Las Cruces NM last weekend to pick up my son for spring break ... I leave the Springs with a full tank of gas ... Almost make it to Santa Fe NM but realized I'd never make it over the small mountain on the little fuel left ... Pull off the interstate when I see a sign for gas .. Start down the road and the fuel light comes on ... After a nice 7 mile windy road with the fuel light I I find the gas station and fill up ...

300miles=24MPG ... WTF ...

I go the rest of the Trip to Las Cruces NM non-stop totalling 306miles=27.5MPG with almost 1/4 tank left...

On the return first half of trip I get 27.5MPG but on the way into CO it start going down ...

Why oh why couldn't I have pick a nice spot at sea level to live smile

Ed - I feel for you. I went about 3100 miles this spring break, and I even went down to sea level. I was getting about 26-29 the whole time. Then, on my way home from Los Alamos (7000 ft.) to Greeley I got even better gas milage. Particularly the first leg, from LA to Pueblo...I got 34mpg! I don't know if it's altitude, or if you're fighting wind.

On the highway, I usually get around 33, even when I go back to Charleston, S.C. and 20 around town. Just FYI.

I have a dream, and that is a 69 Boss 302 with Jules Asner in it.
