Ok I am sure you are wounder what I am Talking About,Well I am Refering to my new ram air set up.

I had the left front fender Louverd to take in air
then hooked in some flex tubing from the fender to the air box, man it really sucks hard. So hard that when you put your hand over the louvers it sucks in your hand to the fender.

Here is where I need your help I am sure when it rains I will be pulling in water. The way I set this up it's sealed at both ends very tight, no air leaks. I did put in some screen at the fendr side but other than that that's it,then to the air box with filter.

What do you guys think ?
Thanks Rick laugh
P.S.Did you ever get the info: I e-mailed you on how to add stuff to the Colo site, if not I can try again it will not take up any space on your hard drive at all It just some uses codes and such.

No not yet, but I can get one or too,Maybe I should put a drain hole in the air tubeing.
Maybe there is something to keep the water out in a ram air set up..I use to have a 1970 ford Torino
GT with a shaker hood with real ram air but I don't remember what if anything was used to keep the water out.I Just don't know.

I will get some photos tonight!!

a drain hole may help, but may also reduce the effectiveness of the ram air...I wouldn't put a drain hole in the tubing. maybe a drain hole before the tubing? pics would definately help me out here, cause I think I'm just rambling wink

Rick, is the P.S. aimed at me? If so, I don't have that info!

Hmmm, that 'p.s.' may be directed towards me considering we discussed me taking over the site. I never got any info about it though.

As to the ram air I remember seeing a valve of sorts that was circular that sat in line with the air ducting. It was specifically for expelling water from the intake tract, unfortunately I can't find a link for it anywhere. You might try searching the performance and mods forums from around 6 months ago for some help.

It was pretty interesting, it would sit in the intake track just like a coupling or something but it had angled sides with flaps/valves that allowed water out.

Yep! Derek hit that one on the nose! Check out AEM's website for some ideas. (http://www.aempower.com) They are called an Air Bypass Valve, and they come in a couple different sizes.

JC Whitney is selling the AEM bypass valve for $49 IIRC.. Or you could drill a drain hole in the bottom for $.50...
