Hey fast80svt, Yeah I know Chris Witt, actually really well. He went to CC in the Springs and played football. I went to one of his games once. Did you room with him in the house they had with some other football players? His youger brother is one of my best friends actually. His name is David.

Terps, where are you from? Yeah, it kind of dissapoints me when I go into the city and see many Cougars running around, and theres like two signed up at NECO. And really, I have never seen a modded Cougar in CO. Well have to get together sometime.

Trey--Small world, eh? Chris is a great guy. I never roomed with him. One of his roommates from that house is my roommate now. Us CC football guys have to stick together, you know.

Tim--I grew up in the Security area. My mother teaches at the high school in Fountain. The Springs members of the CEG haven't ever gotten together because up until a couple weeks ago there were only two of us. Now it looks like there are five people down here so maybe we can do something. Of course we'd have to invite the folks from up North or they would get jealous.

Hey Ed,

I just talked with Phil Long and made an appointment this week to have the problems looked at. The gal I talked with didn't mention anything about prior knowledge of the problems, but when I told her it was an SVT I just bought she asked, "oh, that Maroon one, right?". (I thought that was humourous) =)
Oh yeah, I didn't purchase an extended warranty. They never really offered it or went into detail about it. (it's that like if Wendy's doesn't offer biggie size, it's free?)
My only fear about taking the car in is that it will take weeks to order parts, if needed. Has anyone any experience with Phil Long service department?

Ben, I've lived in the widefield/security area since I moved to colorado 10yrs or so ago. I think it's a nice area, despite the reputation it has. I especially like the no city tax. =)
When would everyone be interested in getting together? It doesn't have to be an all day rally, just a few people having some fun.

I've never had any experience with Phil Long except the one day I was looking at the car you bought ... I really don't think they screwed you over on the stereo ... More likely they just didn't install it right or they replaced the head unit thinking it was the problem and it was actually the amp that was bad ... otherwise they never would have told me there was a problem with it and kept it a secret ...

As for the Warranty you have until 36,00 miles to go it and have it added on if you choose to so it still gives you some time to decide .. Not sure what the prices would be but you can ask them when you take it in for service ...

If your handy with tools and have your own I have one of the Ford Motor Company DVDs .. It has all the workshop manuals, wiring(EVTM), PC/ED, OASIS, TSBs, recalls and engine emission facts summary for all Ford vehicles 1996-2002 ... I don't have the ODBII scanner yet ... Still saving for that one ...

Yea I'd love to get together sometime ... I've never ridden in the SVT frown .. But you should be glad I didn't have time .. If I rode in it I might have bought it and them it wouldn't have been there when you looked and you would have had to settle for my 98 SE that I would have traded in eek ...

Whats everyone doing on this comming up 3 day weekend?????

Honestly the best Ford shop in town isn't a Ford shop at all. I work for Ford, not a dealership, but for the actual company itself. I take all my Fords to Kumph Lincoln Mercury on S Broadway. Maybe they give me better service because I can get em in trouble, but I doubt it. Phil Long is big, but I would honestly take my vehicles to Kumph everytime. I have had no problems with my F-150's, Rangers, Svt Contours, or Mustangs. They are great. Oh BTW ask for Keith.

Trey- I'm currently up in Fort Collins at CSU, I'm in Longmont(Boulder County) on the weekends tho for work. There are a few cougars with minor mods in Longmont but none are close to mine yet. We should definately try to make it to the next meet with these guys.

Alex- I love the swap, it feels great to have more power.. not as much as when I took it down to San Diego over the winter break tho frown but it's still an improvement. So far I've gained a little over a half second in the 1/4mi on my gtech pro, I still want to take it to Bandimere to get a better idea of how much I gained.

What does the Gtech say you are running? Most stock/slightly modded Contour/Cougars are in the high 16's/low 17's at Bandi. SVT's are in the mid to low 16's it seems.
