I had the blower motor/resistor recall done along with the front coil spring recall. What doesn't make sense is they replaced the resistor pack and parts that pertained to it when it went in for the extended service notice a year ago. The front end is very noisy now when going over bumps because of the covers over the coils. They had to replace the stabalizer bar up front cause it was damaged due to the recall. I have to take a thorough look at it all. I have the belt tensioner pulley coming in from Bill. Even with next day shipping it was $11 cheaper than buying it at the dealer. They looked at it while it was in and said everything was normal...riiiiiight
Yeah, tranny cocktail is coming soon for me. Maybe even while I'm home (heck, I'm changing the oil). How long did it take you, Ben? What synthetic fluid did you use, and how easy was it to find the friction modifier? Thanks! Your car loves you now.

It doesn't take long to do the tranny at all. Plan on 15 minutes, maybe 30 if you want to be safe. I picked up the friction modifier at the dealer when I had the recall work done. It cost $6.11 for the 4 oz bottle including tax. They knew exactly what I wanted but the part number is in the FAQ if you think you might need it. If you have trouble getting the FM, let me know. I could mail you the half bottle that I have left over.
I couldn't find the ford friction modifier, and wasn't sure about the other products on the shelf, so I just went with Mobil 1 synthetic tranny fluid. Wasn't a bad job at all. Hardest part was getting the fluid in. Nothing a rocket scientist couldn't figure out
