Max Power = 149.7 Max Torque = 139.8
I'm getting the headers on Tuesday. I talked to the guys who did my exhaust and then called around some other shops to comapare....Lets just say if I had any patience I'd probably wait until our garage day....but I don't. House of Mufflers thinks like 6-8 hours probably closer to 6. I'd say I'm looking at $400-$600 to get it installed. It's getting dropped off Tuesday. Dyno might be slightly delayed as they are moving it to another bay this week but I'll have some results within a few weeks. I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with the numbers, I was expecting somewhere in the mid-150's for power but maybe too optimistic.

By maximum power I assume you mean HP at the front wheels?
That's a pretty high number on the HP for this altitude. Last summer at the National meet 4 of us dynoed our cars, and we were all in the mid 130's for HP. One guy was around 145, but he had Shawn Highland headers and some other mods. You can figure around a 30HP loss at 5000ft, plus the loss from the transaxle, etc
Could be a difference in the dyno calibrations, I suppose...

Did Donny correct for altitude? The SAE correction for Paragon's elevation is 1.25 From what I understand, he always gives the "corrected" numbers to people. Check your print outs to see what's up. If you got a numerical print out as well as the graph, it should be on there. It sounds like those are corrected numbers though, as uncorrected a typical SVT will dyno in the 130's. For example, 130 x 1.25 = 162.5, a typical HP for an SVT. My car dyno'ed at around 126 uncorrected, 157 corrected. Well, now you've got a starting point. I bet you'll be easily in the 160's with the headers, and 200+ with the turbo Alex in Boulder

Alex in BoulderThere isn't anything on the sheet that indicates it was corrected. All I got was a graph. I think I will call and find out.

well, alex offered but said he would need some time to clear it out. i think i'd owe him a case or two of fat tire if he helped me out with the headers. chad, you wanna put a shoshop y-pipe on while we're there?

Well I feel sick to my stomach when I think of how much I just spent to have my headers installed. But I got a smile on my face when I drive it so I think it cancels out. I don't think I'm gonna even devulge how much I spent....Lets just say if you have the facilities, tools, and knowhow do it yourself. First impressions. Much smoother throughout. Not much more down low on the butt dyno but can definitely feel it up top. I'll do another dyno in the next few weeks and post the results.
