Hello everyone, I have spent a lot of time on the CEG web site looking at upgrades and performance parts. Some of the web sites have some of the parts that I would like to order but I don't know how to. These web sites don't have any contact info becides phone numbers that are long distance. Unfortunatley I don't have long distance capability here.

I like the Cold Air system shown on the South County Autosports web site, but it looks like it is for a SVT drive line.

Can any one help me out here? I have a 97 SE contour with the 2.5L V6. Will the different air induction systems work on the Duratec the same as the SVT Duratec?

Thanks guys. smile

Hi Aaron. I don't know the specifics on the CAI but have you tried using 1010220 or 1010811 for calling long distance? I don't have long distance service so this is what I do. KKM also makes an open element intake for your car. It is not cold air though. Our moderator, JC Aimhigher, makes a great heat shield to go with the KKM to keep the air cold. Hope this helps.

All intake systems that work on an SVT will work on your SE with no problem.
Some people with the SCA Cold Air have reported problems with idle and stalling. This is due to the relocation of the MAF that is required with the intake. The MAF is very sensitive apparently, so placing it at an angle or near a bend can mess up the readings it sends to your computer. Some people just play with the MAF placement till it works, but that does not work for everyone. Also, their intake puts the filter right behind the very warm transmission and very close to the ground, which is not cool (pardon the pun) if you go thru a big puddle of water.
I would recomend a KKM or similar filter with a Miks Heatshield, make by our own JC-Aimhigher. It might not look as cool, but I bet you it works better, and it sounds real nice smile

The only stipulation with SCA CAI is that you have manual transmission. IIRC. If you need me to order something for you I'll do what I can to help. Email me off list. brantleyiii@earthlink.net laugh

Thank you for the info! Is the KKM air filter in one of the linked web sites from the parts section?

Next question is Exaust. I'm trying to build a sleeper and don't want a visible or loud exaust system. Any suggestions?

Thanks again everyone!

Sorry guys, found the KKM filter you were talking about but can't find any info on the heat shield to go with it. Where is the info on the web site?

You'll have to just email John Miks and ask him about ordering one. jc-aimhigher@webtv.net laugh
