Brad, I am interested in doing the mystery mod. Do you have a predone set you want to sell. I can send you mine in return for someone else if that would help. I also need instructions relating to O2 issues. Do you have the right stuff for O2 you could sell with the other parts. This seems like a great inexpensive way of boosting HP. Anyone else who has done the Mystery Mod, please post your satisfaction and or issues you have seen with this mod.

Bwahahahaha! It's a MYSTERY!

It might have something to do with gutting the pre-cats (in theory, since you're not supposed to do that)

wink

obviously there has been no feedback on this since I (bonehead) put it in the wrong forum. Anyway for those out there wanting to know about the mystery mod....it's a mystery but check search and you might see something there

I just posted a full blown how to for this on the NECO board.... and it's just as illegal as getting the MSDS headers, yet we publicly talk about it here running on our street cars, so i don't see what's with the "Mystery".

I would post a link to the NECO board but it's down now... just go in the performance section and look for the how to gutting the precats posted by PuckPuck.

The legality of gutting cats seems so idiotic to me every time I sit in a cloud of black smoke coming out of the POS car next to me at a stop light.

ok, gutting the precats is not necessarily illegal.
as long as it passes emissions in your particular state you are perfectly legal.
(IANAL). you CAN gut the precats and leave the main cat and still pass emissions... (depending)

i'm not commenting on the legality of the mystery mod specifically mind you. wink just several people in here talking about gutting precats as illegal.
I don't condone gutting cats, as i like our air... (tree hugger! :D)
But as long as you still pass your state's emissions test you are fine in my book, maximal performance (engine) and as far above the limit as possible, is what i shoot for. wink

Please: put something meaningful in your post subject! NOT "please readme!".

"your" is possessive, "you're" is the conjunction that is short for "you are", "there" is for "the dictionary is over THERE", "their" is the possessive one, and "they're" is a conjunction that is short for "they are". have a nice day
