I get one lousy nail in one of my BRAND NEW tires (only about 1500 miles on them) and its $147!!!!!!! Am I being ripped off, or are the stock BFGs really that expensive?

Yeah what Kevin said. Where did the nail puncture the tire?

Its right at the very edge of the tread... i'm not so worried about the fixability, i know they can't repair sidewall punctures, i'm just worried about the price... are the Comp T/A's that nice of tires? I can get some Michelin Pilots or Potenza S-03's for that kind of money (yeah, a little more i know)

I have comp t/a's and they are nice enough tires, although I am going to the g-force when these go bald. Never had the g-force before as I don't own an SVT so I can't compare the 2

Better buy your tires from somewhere that gives you roadhazard protection!

I got them at discount tire, which does have roadhazard protection as well as free flat fixes... in addition, I raised enough hell about paying $150 for a tire that had to be shipped AND was late, he knocked 40 bucks off! they really want your business I guess.

ps- I would've gone to Tire Rack, but I couldn't find the Comp T/A on the website... was I looking in the wrong place??? or do you not carry it??

I know for a fact no bigger garages will repairs any thing over a "v" rated tire or they are responable for anything that happens to that tire.If you should crash you can come back and say it was due to the tire.I drove two summers with a nail in the sidewall and it did not come out. laugh lucky me
