I am about to have to put tires on the SVT, and I was wondering what the experience with this tire has been? I am thinking about bumping up to the 225/50/16, and was wondering if anyone out there has had rubbing issues with this particular tire in this size? Thanks so much, and any feedback is appreciated!! laugh

I would suggest you go with the 225/45R16 they have in the 712's. The 225/50's are what I had and the sidewall looks to tall. The 225/45's are tiny but lower than the stock 215/50's but it would look better and your acceleration would be better than with the 225/50's.

I have the 225/50s on 98.5 SVT and have had no rubbing at all, even with 4 200lb+ guys in it.

My car is an E0 SVT. I too bought the Kumho 712 225-50R16s. The tires I had before were 205-55R16 BF Goodrich KDWS tires. I found that I have to put 40PSI in the Kumhos to make them stick. I have kept them there for a few months and I have no abnormal tire wear. Also no rubbing issues. The Kumhos have EXCELLENT wet traction, better than I have ever experienced, although my experience is somewhat limited to bigger tires on a race Monte Carlo. I do believe that the BF Goodrich tires I had to start with stuck to the road better with only 35PSI. I never aired them up past there. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice everyone...had the Kumhos installed Friday. I can't believe how much quieter the car is now...very impressive!

Big kudos to Luke for getting them out to the install location quickly! How are these figures?

(4)Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s shipped to me for $356

Install and alignment: $119

Cost of just the tires mounted and balanced at Discount Tire-$124/tire BEFORE tax (8.25%)

In other words...Tire Rack is the way to go!! laugh laugh
