I still stand behind the extremely high rec. of the SP5000 asymetrical. For an apple to apples comparison on stock size tires, the SP does a great job in handling etc etc. Eagles GSC don't come in a stock SVT size so the lower profile may give you that mystical handling feel in the twisties.
So I have been very impressed with the tires overall performance!!!!Its a great tire!!!

I just had mine rotated, balanced and a four wheel alignment on the Buick $55 BTW, for three hours work wink

My SP5000's in 225/55Z16 on the Buick have about 5/32nds left after about 19K miles. So I'm extrapolating that they would go another 11K miles or right around 30K total life, if driven to the wear bars.

I will probably drive them until October or early November (depending on the forecast) and then ditch them at something near 26-28K miles, as I have a 205/75-14 for the winter on the factory steelies.

I agree, I've had:
stock Firestone 205/60-R15
stock BFGoodrich KDWs 215/50-R16
Yokohama Avid H4s 215/60-R15
Dunlop SP5000 215/50-R15
Falken Azenis 215/45R-16

And I think the Dunlops were the best all-around tire I've owned. I was impressed with their ability in dry conditions, but also in snowy conditions. Granted, they're not snow tires.

They also seem to hold up well to hard use... I've used them in auto-x and hard driving and they held up remarkably well.

Oddly enough, the tirerack guy (Buddy) talked me out of this tire and into some Bridgestone Potenzas - but when I showed up at the tire shop to get my car I found my car shod in Dunlops... Somebody at the tirerack was smoking something.
Hope this helps --

The A2s are rated highly...but they're only "H" rated. Doesn't matter to everyone, but it might to some.

I have had 3 sets of tires on my 99SE, Factory firehawks and 2 sets of these Dunlops. I needed an all season tire that wouldn't completely suck in the summer. Big twisty backroads really show the difference from the awful firehawks. noticably quieter. I would reccomend them unless you have a second set of rims and can get dedicated snow tires....

I have a set of 205/55 16s on my 'tour, and they are by far the best set of all season tires I have ever owned. While the treadwear isn't the greatest, everything else about this tire is superior. I highly recommend them. I'll be getting another set when the time comes.
