Opinions? Sounds like a solid tire and Tire Rack rates it well.

I have the sport A2 tires and they are great, very little road noise and the traction is great, tire rack also rated these highly.

I have the sp5000's... I love them. No road noise; great traction in the twisties, and rain (not both at the same time though eek ) I cant say much about wear, though they seem to be ever so slightly below average (and I am not hard on them at all).

Looks like I'm going to get 25K-30K out of the set on my Buick. They should last until winter. I bought them in the spring of 2001, but only ran them 6 months. Will run them 6 months again this year before switching in Oct/Nov back to the factory 14"

I drive 26-27K/year in the Buick.

They do suck at on track stuff such as AutoX.

They are an absolutely disgusting tire. If you drive like a 90 year old women, and do not care about grip them buy them. They suck in the dry, they suck in wet weather, and mine wore out in 8000 miles.

I'm not trying to piss anybody off, I do find it strange that people on this site like them confused I'm sure that they are an all around okay tire, but they don't handle well at all.

Just put these on my 99 SVT and went back to the 205/55/16(asymetrical). I replaced the stock KDW tires. I have felt almost no difference in handling, wet weather handling is great, and ooooo so quiet. First rate tire in my eyes!!! and actually over 1/2" wider than the stock 215/50/16..as one was rubbing the inner rear skirt when they were first put on.

Dude, you must be talking about a different tire altogether. confused The Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Asymetrical is an awesome tire. Dry (straight & twisties), wet, snow...this tire kicks a$$...and quiet too! It's AA traction rated! And it's reasonably priced.
This is a top rate tire; WAY batter than the Eagle GA's or the Toyo Avids I had before.

GSRguy...buy a set. You wont be disappointed.

Nope my Eagle GSC's handle far better (and quieter) than the SP5000's ever did. I now have Bridgestone Potenza SO3's, which I admit are in a different league, but the difference is absolutely incredible. I admit that my tire demands might not be the same of you guys, as I do drive fast, and frequently visit the twisties.

Dan, don't you have any Integra friends in your area? Go talk to them about what tire is best for the integra, just make sure they know their stuff, unlike most doo's that drive Integra's eek If you want the absolute best tire no questions asked get the bridgestone potenza SO3's, but they do cost a good amount more than the tires you are looking at.

Have close to 45000 on the set on my car now. They are worn to the wear bars. Not so good in the rain any longer but they shouldn't be. Did an auto cross with them recently and I thought they were pretty good for a worn out tire. I am probably going to purchase another set that is 225 50 instead of the 205 55 I have now. Probably the best bang for the buck tire out there. The A2s are also a great tire have them on my wifes car and love them.

I need a set of all-season tires that will do well in the dry, wet, and snow. I know that no such tire exists but the guys at my local Discount Tire claim that the SP Sport 5000 is a great tire, and Tire Rack rates it very highly.

They have to be either 195/55R15, 205/55R15, or 205/50R15.
